The problem associated with Fire Safety systems, is that since they are facilities that do not intervene in production, plant engineering teams do not usually have experts in these systems and, therefore, bad design or improper execution, as well as improper maintenance can go unnoticed.
It is when these systems need to become operational that all kinds of deficiencies become visible and they prove unable to control the fire, leading to serious consequences.
These events usually involve a business interruption, to a greater or lesser degree, with a decrease in the level of service for customers and in the worst-case scenario, cessation of the activity.
FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEERING
- Protection needs of the establishment according to Spanish regulation (RD 2267/2004, CTE-DB SI) and well recognized standards (NFPA, FM, other insurance standards).
- Improvement plans for fire safety prioritized according to criticality and investment cost.
- Cost estimation in each phase.
REVIEW OF FIRE PROTECTION PROJECTS BEFORE ITS IMPLEMENTATION
- Analysis of Fire Safety installations projects and associated documentation provided by the client.
- Reports of deviations regarding local regulations and recognised international standards (FM, NFPA, other insurance standards) with the corresponding recommendations (actions / steps to correct these deficiencies).
- In later phases we can also provide assessment to the customer in negotiations with fire system contractors.
DUE DILLIGENCE ON SAFETY CONDITIONS
- Investments in fire safety to comply with local regulations or international standards must be taken into consideration in a due diligence process. This service consists of the following stages:
- Development of safety parameters to be assessed in the establishment, from mere regulatory compliance to a standard defined at the corporate level, which is carried out with the company’s technical managers.
- Definition of safety values considered acceptable to the company as a minimum.
- Identification of improvement measures and economic valuation for its implementation.
- Preparation of final report with quantification of the result of the analysis.
FIRE SAFETY SYSTEMS REVIEW
During the review, following items are considered:
- Documentation related to facilities, both memory / project (if any) and maintenance.
- Implementation and suitability of installed fire safety systems.
- Maintenance performed on existing systems.
- Checks on specific systems (upon request).
